Grand Seiko Introduces New Limited Edition Titanium Watch Powered by Spring Drive Movement

The Grand Seiko SBGA525 “Golden Clouds” watch is an exclusive limited edition available at Watches of Switzerland's flagship store at Singapore Changi Airport. This timepiece features a dial inspired by dawn, a bezel-less 62GS case, a titanium case, and the 9R65 Spring Drive movement.

Grand Seiko has always drawn inspiration from fleeting moments in nature, building a complete design language—such as the Iwate Mountains at dawn, snow on lacquered surfaces, and frost on windowpanes. Its latest boutique-exclusive watch continues this tradition. This timepiece, named SBGA525, is hailed as “Golden Clouds.”

The dial features a finely textured surface designed to reflect the first rays of sunlight captured by clouds at sunrise, accented with soft blue tones to symbolize the lingering cool shadows below. Interestingly, the two official statements about this watch don't entirely agree on the color – Watches of Switzerland APAC calls it a "gold dial," while the enthusiast account @plus9time describes it as pink. Both likely refer to the same warm, sunrise-like hue; it's well known that photographs of the richly textured Grand Seiko dials are highly susceptible to light variations, so it's entirely possible for the watch to appear different from different angles.

The watch's case follows the classic design of the Grand Seiko 62GS. It features a bezel-less design, allowing light to reach the dial from multiple angles without being blocked by the edges. The case measures 43.5 mm in diameter, 16.1 mm in thickness, and has a lug spacing of 51.2 mm. The watch is powered by the 9R65 Spring Drive movement and features a titanium case and bracelet.
