U4GM Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Missions and Ending
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 reportedly has 16 campaign missions, beginning with Mayhem and ending with Greater Good, where Price's pursuit of the Archer reaches a fatal conclusion. These are reported story details, not independently verified release information, so use the sequence as a provisional guide and expect major spoilers below. When planning a session alongside Bot Lobby MW4, keep campaign progress and multiplayer spending as distinct decisions.
1 What Is the Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Mission Order
The reported playable order runs from Mayhem to Greater Good across 16 missions. It alternates between the fighting in Korea and Price's operation, so you shouldn't read it as a strictly chronological account of every event.
The sequence is Mayhem, Out in the Cold, Following Orders, Hired Gun, Losing Ground, Traffic, Gone Dark, Assassins, Survivors, Stranded, Defection, Counter Attack, Escape, Entrenched, Decapitation, and Greater Good. If you're checking your progress, use your latest mission's position in that sequence; a change of location doesn't necessarily mean you've started an unrelated storyline.
Mission names are enough to check your place without reading character revelations. Use this sequence of checks if you want progress guidance while protecting the ending.
1) Identify the title of the latest mission you've reached.
2) Locate that title in the reported sequence and check which mission follows it.
3) Stop before the story sections below if your question is only about mission order.
2 How Do Modern Warfare 4's Two Storylines Connect
The campaign outline connects a fictional North Korean invasion of South Korea with Price's pursuit of the Archer, an intended recipient of a dangerous weapon. The Korean thread follows Private Park Hyun Jun and a joint South Korean and American Marine squad, while Price operates outside normal command structures.
Hajin City anchors the frontline conflict, including ground fighting and an amphibious assault. Price's pursuit moves through New York, Paris, and Mumbai, with Valeria becoming an ally despite their history and Ghost and Gaz receiving orders to capture or kill their former captain.
That split gives you two perspectives on the crisis: soldiers defending a country and a captain whose methods put him in conflict with his own side. When the campaign changes perspective, tracking the immediate objective is more useful than assuming every scene directly follows the previous one in time.
◆ Follow Park Hyun Jun's objectives to keep the Korean defense storyline distinct from Price's pursuit.
◆ Treat Ghost and Gaz's orders as a central conflict over Price's actions, not simply another target assignment.
3 What Happens to Price in Greater Good
Major ending spoilers follow: in the reported finale, Price kills the Archer but dies from his own injuries. Greater Good therefore resolves his pursuit without giving him a survival ending.
The mission begins with Price held prisoner in a convoy heading toward the Russian border. An attack overturns the convoy, allowing him to escape and pursue the Archer through the snow to a frozen lake, where their confrontation ends.
The Archer is revealed as a Russian defense minister connected to Konni and as Vladimir Makarov's father. That identity adds a personal motive to the wider military threat, making the confrontation more than an attempt to intercept a weapon.
Ghost reaches Price for their final exchange after the Archer's death. Price's instruction to hold the line gives the ending its central tension: stopping the enemy settles his immediate objective, but it doesn't erase the cost of the choices that brought him there.
Which Option Should Players Choose
If you only need to track campaign progress, keep the mission sequence and leave the character revelations unread until you've finished Greater Good. If you've already completed the story, distinguish the two outcomes clearly: the Archer dies, and Price doesn't survive the confrontation in this reported ending.
For purchase decisions, a campaign outline doesn't establish what a multiplayer service or beta access offer includes.
