London has some of the most impressive business districts in the world, so it’s no surprise that you might be heading there on a business trip! If you’ve not been to London before or not for a while, we’re here to give you a few tips on how best to prepare so that the day goes as smoothly as possible for you. 

Book Your Transport 

The first thing you need to do when preparing for your business trip to London, whether you are going just for the day or for longer, is to book your transport. Once you know exactly where it is you will be going, decide on the best method of transport (driving and parking at Care Park, train, plane if you’re coming from overseas, bus or tube) and then get everything booked that you can. This will ensure that you get the best seats and once this is booked, you can confidently start sorting everything else. 

Travel Off-Peak

Whilst on the topic of transport, another way you can prepare to make the day go as smoothly as possible is to travel off-peak. Whilst your company is likely to be expensing the trip so money isn’t as much of a concern, the main thing to consider here is how busy London gets during rush hours (around 7am until 9am and 5pm until 7pm on working days). 

If you’re going to an important business meeting, you don’t want to be all cramped on public transport getting there. You also don’t want to be late, which would be a possibility if you are travelling by car or bus, as the traffic is very bad in rush hours. So, where possible, plan your meetings around these times so you stay comfortable and are on time for your meetings. 

Be Clever About Your Route Planning

If you are seeing multiple clients throughout your time in London, then be clever about the route you use to see them. London is a massive place and the last thing you want to be doing is zig-zagging across the city, taking up valuable time. Instead, where possible, try to plan a route so you are seeing all of your clients in a logical order, saving you a lot of time and energy. 

Pre-Book A Restaurant

If you’re going to meet clients for lunch, then we’d always advise pre-booking a restaurant. The best restaurants, particularly those in the business districts, get very busy around lunch time throughout the working week, so get organised and book somewhere in advance. The last thing you want is to be wandering around with clients in town desperately trying to find a half-decent restaurant for lunch. Do a bit of research, ask your clients what food they like, and get somewhere booked to remove any unnecessary stress from the day.
